BIZET (1838-1875)

 Bizet was a french composer. He was born in Paris and died in this city at the age of thirty seven. He was an excellent pianist and won several prizes at the Conservatory.

He wrote operas. In an opera the singers tell a story by singing.

"Carmen" is his most famous opera.Carmen is a gypsy girl from Seville. She is very beatiful and works as a "cigarrera" in a factory. A cigarrera prepares the tobacco.

A soldier, don José loves Carmen but she loves a bullfighter.
